Experience
I have lead weekly science classes for a groups of students ages 4-12 while volunteering on a youth center on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation. I also assisted students with their homework while volunteering at the youth center. I have been a "mainstream companion" to a boy with Down syndrome during Montgomery County Recreation summer camp. My duties as a mainstream companion were assisting my camper in daily activities and helping to incorporate him into social settings with other campers. I would like to be a tutor because I believe in the power of individualized attention and believe that everyone has something valuable to offer. I enjoy assisting students in the exciting process of self discovery.
