In AmeriCorps, I tutored elementary school children. I am certified as a TESL teacher. SAT scores: 1250 total, 680 in reading/writing, 570 in math I want to be a tutor because I need the money, and I am good at explaining difficult concepts. My English skills (written and spoken) are excellent, and I can transfer this knowledge. Multiple English composition classes, multiple literature classes (Contemporary American, Classical and Contemporary European, etc.), TESL certification, multiple journalism classes. I wrote for my local paper for 18 months before I moved to Olympia for college.
