I tutor in subjects as diverse as reading and writing and mathematics and physics. I can provide help with test prep as well. The reason I tutor is because I enjoy intellectual exchanges with people. It's a passion to help others learn because it helps make the world a better place. Individuals who are knowledgeable contribute to and improve society. As for my teaching philosophy, I strive to illustrate how a particular subject adds beauty to the world, both in abstract and practical manners. When tutoring, I bring the subject to the student's interests, not the other way around, and try to bring the subject alive for them. It's okay to be challenged but you don't have to always be nervous and worried.I trained in physics and mathematics at The Evergreen State College and also studied poetry there. I've worked with college students one-on-one for three years and have also tutored elementary school math and writing. Even when not pursuing academics, I like to read textbooks just to teach myself new subjects. My favorites include astronomy, cosmology, and astrophysics. I like trying new restaurants, gaming, poetry, drawing, and stargazing. Another fact about me is I'm building my own telescope!
