Experience
For the past three years, I have worked as a professional tutor at the college level. Prior to this, I worked for two years as a volunteer tutor at the high school I attended. I attended a very small charter school specializing in mathematics and the sciences -for this reason I have over 8 years experience in Physics, 6 years in Calculus and related mathematics. Less extensively, I have also studied pure mathematics including Set Theory, Group Theory, Euclidean and Non-Euclidean Geometry, Real Analysis and Game Theory. I feel that in tutoring, not only does the tutee gain insight into a subject or method, but as does the tutor. Over the years, I have come to realize that tutoring expands my own understanding more than any other method of study. Combined with the opportunity to help and empower others, I find tutoring to be a very rewarding relationship that drives my understanding of math and the sciences.

Hobbies
I spend a lot of time outside, rain or shine. I believe in a simple life, such that when I am not studying, I am chopping wood, carrying water, tending to goats and chickens, or cooking dinner over the wood stove. I am an avid bicyclist, canoeist, and hiker, but I generally enjoy anything that gets me outside.
